I finally added some new art to my main page. I didn't work on my book idea this evening because I have been thinking about it all day, and I think I have another idea I want to try. Instead of monkeys, I am going to go back to the idea of aliens. So the title will be Ten Little Alien Dudes. Fun title. I think if I keep it easy right at first, then I will do better learning the Kindle Kid Book Maker. I don't want it to be too difficult at first. You know, KISS, keep it simple stupid.
This also means I think I will keep the text as just the original text for now, and try not to make it too much. I'm so new to all of this that I really don't want to screw it up when I am just starting out.
I think it might be time to start thinking about what I want these little guys to look like. I could make them all the same, but that would be boring, so I want to look into doing them all different. That means I have to come up with ten different little aliens. It will be fun. So my plan for tomorrow is to work on coming up with different looking aliens-hopefully funny looking ones-and get them into my sketchbook, and on the computer to see what they will look like after I have scanned them into my computer.
I am discovering that the hard part is trying to make up my mind on what I want to do for a book. I have been writing in my journal everyday, and I have come up with a few other ideas. That's how the idea side of it seems to work for me. I have read a lot of books on creating picture books, and how each author comes up with their ideas. The bottom line is that there is no one right way to do a picture book. I think each artist has to find out what their own creative process is.
