I keep wishing that I had more time to do the things I want to do. I am drawing these little monkeys, and thinking about what kind of practice book I want to do, and I only have the evenings-if I'm not too tired-to work on it. I wish I could spend all day working on this project, and I wish I didn't have to work. But my reality is that I have to work.
Anyway, I have been racking my brain trying to decide what I want to this to look like. I only have time to do quick little sketched in my sketchbook, and not much else. Basically, my monkey is a stick monkey because I really haven't developed him into anything yet. I was thinking that the monkeys could be swinging from the trees, then I thought maybe they could swing from a trapeze, and with each page turn, there would be one more monkey on the trapeze bar. If I do that, there won't be much in the way of a background. Each page would like the page before it. On a practice book that might be okay, but when I try to do the actual book, it needs to be much more visually appealing. Like I was thinking earlier today, it doesn't have to be 10 Little Monkeys, it could be fish. It could be anything, actually. I'll keep working on it.
